A hearing examiner in Sedro-Woolely, Wash., has denied a conditional-use permit to a self-storage owner who wants to rent units for the growth of medical marijuana.
Thomas Swett has been renting self-storage units to individual medical marijuana growers for more than a year. He recently applied for the conditional-use permit so that he can convert more of the facility’s storage spaces into grow rooms.
Donald Largen, Sedro-Woolley’s hearing examiner, denied Swett’s application, saying it didn’t meet the permit criteria. Swett has until Jan. 6 to appeal the ruling.
