Christmas Gifts Stolen From NV Self-Storage Unit

A family in Elko, Nev., is distraught after discovering a thief broke into their self-storage unit and stole Christmas presents.

Over the past few weeks, Jill Woten had accessed her storage unit at AAA Self Storage on West River Street several times to stash holiday gifts. Wotens unit and another were burglarized last weekend when someone drilled out the screws attaching the latch hardware to the wooden shed frame.

In addition to Christmas presents for Wotens children and grandchildren, a Vtech console, controllers and games, a computer tower, and two camp stoves were also taken. Woten did not have tenant insurance, nor was the unit under video surveillance.

The Elko Police Department is keeping an eye on local pawn shops for the stolen items.
