Stor-Age Develops Self-Storage Facility in South Africa

Stor-Age Self Storage, a property-management group based in Cape Town, South Africa, has completed its due diligence and will proceed with the development of a flagship self-storage facility on the existing Killarney Hotel site.

The Killarney Hotel is a well-known landmark in the greater Cape Town area. Its position at the intersection of Blaauwberg and Koeberg Roads enjoys excellent exposure to one of only two main entrance points into the West Coast suburbs. The site is surrounded by a broad base of residential and commercial users including the residential areas of Milnerton, Table View, Parklands, Sunningdale, Blaauwberg, West Beach and Big Bay, as well as the commercial areas of Montague and Killarney Gardens and the mixed-use Century City.

The site will include multiple floors and more than 800 self-storage units. The new store will be built by Faircape Construction, with the internal fit out completed by self-storage specialists Steel Self Storage Systems.

"The new Stor-Age Table View is being developed in an outstanding location. A large part of our success to date can be attributed to our commitment to only acquire and develop properties which demonstrate exceptionally strong market fundamentals, said Steven Horton, development director. Together with the success of the recently opened Stor-Age Gardens, this new store will add significant value to the Stor-Age portfolio."
