Krista Bridgwood, manager of Morningstar Mini-Storage in Hickory, N.C., is the recipient of a Self Storage Association Foundation Scholarship.

She’ll receive a $2,500 grant based on her performance within school and the workplace. Bridgwood is currently pursuing a master of science in human resources at Western Carolina University. 

“We are pleased Krista has been recognized for the contribution she makes to her business and her personal development through her continued education, said Craig Robertson, director of storage operations for Morningstar Properties. “She plays a key part in the success of her store, and we are happy she’s a part of the Morningstar team,”

The Self Storage Association awarded seven applicants. Awardees must work within the self-storage industry while seeking an education at an accredited postsecondary education institution.

Founded in Matthews, N.C., in 1981, Morningstar is a developer, builder and operator of specialty real estate types across the Southeast. The company owns or operates 46 self-storage projects totaling nearly 3 million square feet. The company continues to grow through development and acquisition.
