Repeal on Arkansas Self-Storage Tax Goes to Governor's Desk

The Arkansas House has approved a repeal of the state's tax on mini-warehouses and self-storage services, sending the measure to the governor's desk. The $4.2 million tax cut, approved today in an 80-7 vote, would take effect in 2011. Sponsored by Sen. Bobby Glover of Carlisle, the bill is one of a handful of tax breaks approved by the Legislature this year. The warehouse tax was enacted in 2004 to help pay for an overhaul of the state's public-school system.
