Westy Storage Center Collections Donations on Behalf of Community Groups

Westy Storage Center of Tuckahoe, N.Y., initiated a Four for Four donation drive on Nov. 17 to assist community groups. The facility will collect donated goods through Dec. 15 for Westhab Donations, the Eastchester Community Action Program (ECAP), Girl Scouts of the Hudson Valley and the Eastchester Youth Soccer Association. "We chose local charities and tried to encompass various collection items," said Melissa Symeon, the facility’s advertising and communications manager.

Westhab works to enable homeless and low-income individuals and families to become self-sufficient. It also aims to further the physical, social and economic stability of distressed neighborhoods in Westchester County, N.Y., and surrounding areas by developing affordable housing, revitalizing communities and providing adult and youth services.

ECAP assists low- and fixed-income families through its various programs and services. It works closely with local agencies such as the Tuckahoe Housing Authority, Public Health Nursing Organization, Mental Health Clinic and the Senior Citizen Centers.

The soccer association will be collecting used uniforms for players who need them. It engages in this campaign every year, though this is the first time it has been assisted by Westy.

Westy Storage Centers has 16 locations in Connecticut, New Jersey and New York. For more information, visit www.westy.com.
