Kurt OBrien, CEO of OB Cos./Simply Self Storage has formed the Kurt OBrien (KOB) Foundation, raising money to educate children and young adults on issues of cancer prevention and healthy living. The organization will provide educational materials to help youths understand the causes and treatments of the various forms of the disease and provide a positive influence for avoiding related risks.
 
As a cancer survivor, I know the disease can be beaten; but one of the keys to defeating it is early detection, said OBrien. As a child growing up, I was not educated on the importance of early detection of cancer or its symptoms. Our goal at the KOB Foundation is to change the perception of our youth about cancer awareness through informative educational materials.
