Cell-Tower Leases for Self-Storage to Be Addressed at ISS Vegas Expo

Self-storage operators interested in learning more about security cell-tower leases for their sites can learn more at the Inside Self-Storage Las Vegas Expo, Feb. 5-8, 2008. Ken Schmidt of Steel in the Air Inc. will present “Cell-Tower Leases for Self-Storage: Long-Term, Reliable Income Opportunities” on Feb. 6 at 10:30 a.m.
Schmidt will address the basics of cell-tower siting as well as how a storage operator can improve his chances of being approached for a lease. He will also cover recommendations for improving the wireless company’s template lease, issues unique to self-storage, current trends that impact owners with cell sites, technical advances, and lease buyouts.
Schmidt is president of Steel in the Air, a cell-tower-lease consulting firm that provides guidance to public and private landowners in determining the fair market value of cell-tower leases. The company has assisted more than 1,000 clients with proposed and existing cell-tower and cell-site lease issues, including a number of self-storage owners. For more information, visit
