Five state self-storage associations won money to donate to community charities during last week’s Inside Self-Storage Las Vegas Expo at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino. The winners of a drawing to determine which groups would receive $2,000 grants to pass along to charitable causes were:
- Arizona Self Storage Association
- California Self Storage Association
- Kansas Self Storage Owners Association
- Vermont Self Storage Association
- Washington State Self Storage Association
All state-level storage associations were automatically entered into the contest, and recipients were selected and announced at the start of the Prime-Time Open Forum on Feb. 21. The winning groups can donate the funds to a charity of their own choosing, or they can pass the money to an association member for charity placement.
The aim of the ISS program is to support state associations in pursuing altruistic endeavors and building community relationships as well as create positive public awareness of self-storage.
The ISS Vegas Expo is the industry's largest international conference and tradeshow. It is sponsored by ISS magazine, a monthly publication dedicated to the needs of storage owners, operators, managers, investors, developers and suppliers. For more information, visit www.insideselfstorage.com.
