Washington, D.C.-based 1-800-PACK-RAT, a relative newcomer in the portable moving and storage industry, has embarked on a national campaign to partner with self-storage businesses. Traditional storage operators can offer the company’s service and enjoy a percentage of the revenue, with no financial investment required. 1-800-PACK-RAT has already created alliances with the Security Self Storage chain of Raleigh, N.C., as well as other independent self-storage providers in Charlotte, N.C., Chicago, Greensboro, N.C., and Washington, D.C.
 
1-800-PACK-RATdelivers custom-made, weatherproof storage containers to customers’ homes or businesses. There they can be filled at the customers’ own pace before being picked up on demand and moved to a designated location or the company’s warehouse. In addition, the containers can be used as temporary storage for renovation projects, home staging, construction or other applications.
