Self-storage owners and developers Keith Marshall and David Boatner recently launched a new venture, From Ship To Store, which provides turnkey shipping and mailing systems, on-site installation and training to the self-storage industry.
Marshall and Boatner originally set up their own mailing system at their Bay Area Self Storage facility in Texas. They discovered how difficult it was to bring together all of the individual pieces, Marshall said. “There were computer issues, software programming problems, and a lot of work just to get accounts set up with the various service providers.”
The pair tried again at another location, which spurred the idea for the new business. “After we installed the second system at our Store Smart Storage location in Manor, Texas, we realized there was a real need for a company that could take all the complexity out of the process,” added Boatner.
The partnership selected Dell Computer for its core system, PostalMate for the primary shipping software, Mettler Toledo for the shipping scales, and Zebra & Citizen Systems for label and receipt printing capability. For more information, visit www.fromshiptostore.com.
