Americans Volunteer for Swine Flu Vaccine Trials

08/11/2009

Americans are pulling up their sleeves for experimental swine flu shots.

Trial vaccinations in eight cities are underway in a race to get the H1N1 shot ready for millions of Americans this fall. The study will test safety and effectiveness of the vaccine.

About 2,800 volunteers will participate in the the government-funded testing. Five flu vaccine manufacturers are working around the clock to have 160 million doses of the swine flu vaccine ready this fall.
