SMARTBOX Portable Storage Makes Franchise 500 List

SMARTBOX, a provider of portable-storage and moving services, has been named to Entrepreneur magazine’s Franchise 500, an annual list by rank of the top 500 franchises in the world. SMARTBOX appeared on the list for the first time at No. 468. The company also ranked No. 48 on Entrepreneur’s list of Top New Franchises.
Franchise 500 candidates, regardless of size, are judged using objective, quantifiable measures of a franchise operation. According to Entrepreneur, the most important factors include financial strength and stability, growth rate and size of the system. The magazine also considers the number of years in business and length of time franchising, startup costs, litigation, percentage of terminations, and whether the company provides financing. These factors are plugged into the Franchise 500 formula, with each eligible company receiving a cumulative score. Those with the highest scores make the list.
