Brazilian Self-Storage Development Focused in Big Cities

Despite development challenges, there’s explosive growth of the self-storage industry throughout Brazil, where there is a population of roughly 200 million people and less than 100 facilities. Most are in the major capital cities such as Belo Horizonte, Brasilia, Porto Alegre and Rio de Janeiro. A recent feasibility study found the self-storage business has the capacity to generate more than $1 billion annually in the country. GuardeAqui Self Storage, which started its operation in São Paulo, recently announced plans to open 50 facilities across the country by 2017.
