The Self-Storage WOW Gallery: See Facility Design Transformed Through Color, Architecture and Innovative Materials
Making the Most of Available Space
With self-storage conversions on the rise, developers are sometimes challenged when it comes to unit mix and site layout. When Christopher Zupsic (pictued) of Portland-Pacific LCC, a private real estate investment firm, decided to turn an empty building in downtown San Francisco into a self-storage facility, he was keen on building in some very creative spaces. StoragePro of Brannon Street features a number of traditional sized storage units and an abundance of out-of-the-box spaces, such as these units under the staircase. The back of the stairs was concealed, which adds more privacy to the under-stairs units. Wire mesh above the units offers security, light and airflow.
