On Wednesday, March 14, attendees of the ISS Expo in Las Vegas participated in more than 20 roundtable discussions on a wide range of self-storage topics. (To view a complete list, click here.) Among the presenters was Scott Zucker (far left), who spoke to his group about "The Legal Issues of Discounting: Waiving Fees and Charges." Discounting is a sensitive topic in the storage industry these days. Some facility operators feel it's the only way for them to compete in a tough market, while others feel the practice does damage to the business as a whole.

Scott is a partner in the law firm of Weissmann Zucker Euster Morochnik P.C. in Atlanta, where he specializes in real estate and business litigation. He is also legal counsel to a number of state storage associations, a frequent speaker at conferences, and a contributing author to industry magazines.
