Shepherd Self Storage of Boardman, OH, Hosts Michael Fox Remembrance Event

Shepherd Self Storage in Boardman, Ohio, hosted the Michael Fox Remembrance Foundation “Spooktacular” Car Show on Oct. 9 in honor of Michael Fox, a racer who died in a car accident at 22 years old. Proceeds from the show will help provide scholarships for young racers who wish to attend a BMW racing school, according to the foundation’s website.

The event at 7469 South Ave., noon to 4 p.m., was open to the public for a $5 donation. It included awards for automobile owners in 10 categories as well as an auction, food, music, children’s trick-or-treating and a costume contest. Four stars from Discovery Channel’s “Fat N’ Furious” TV show were also on hand to greet fans. 

Fox began racing go-karts on a small track in Columbiana, Ohio, when he was 8 years old, and started competing on a national level at age 13. Born on Oct. 31, he was first in his class for several years, the source reported. In addition to racing, Fox was an artist and model.

Shepherd Self Storage offers indoor, drive-up and vehicle storage. The facility regularly hosts events including outdoor exhibits, tradeshows and fundraisers. Its Shepherd Event Center offers up to 40,000 square feet of indoor event space and a 3.2 acre outdoor, paved lot for events or parking.
