The movie stars veteran actors Eric Roberts, Jonathan Silverman and Michael Berryman, along with a host of unknowns. It was written and directed by Tom DeNucci, who is also the lead actor. The film was co-produced by Verdi Productions and Woodhaven Production Co.

Although the movies pre-release marketing focused on the horror aspects of the subject matter, which includes the harvesting and selling of human organs and body parts, Dread Centrals three-dagger (instead of stars) review describes the film as a true horror-comedy, spending as much time trying to make the audience laugh as it does trying to scare us.

As all fans of horror know, there is no more slippery slope to tread than that of the horror-comedy, writes reviewer Scott Hallam. It's very difficult to find the right balance between the two contrasting genres and come up with a successful film. In the case of Self Storage, they get it about right.

Hallam praises DeNuccis directorial debut, the acting of the veteran cast, as well as most of the special effects. The films shortcomings include some of the early scenes shot inside the office of the self-storage facility, which the writer describes as a little stiff. He also said some of the lesser-known actors appear a bit wooden.

All in all, though, Hallam said Self Storage, the third film from Woodhaven, is the production companys best. Producer Chad A. Verdi has already announced his intentions for a sequel.
