ISS Store Announces Sale of 'Self Storage' Horror Thriller Novel

The Inside Self-Storage (ISS) Store, an e-commerce website providing research and education products for industry professionals, has added the horror thriller novel “Self Storage,” as its first non-business-related product for sale. Written by best-selling author Jay Bonansinga, the book centers on Johnny Fitzgerald, a lonely, divorced graphic illustrator with a major heroin habit. When Johnny accidentally gets trapped inside a deserted self-storage facility with his 6-year-old son, he’s forced to face demons both real and imagined.

While trapped inside the unit, father and son battle thirst, hunger, the effects of heroin withdrawal, and something dark and terrifying touched off by the self-storage facility itself.

Bonansinga is best known for writing “The Walking Dead” novels based on the Robert Kirkman comic-book series. He’s authored 23 novels, including the “The Black Mariah,” “Lucid,” “The Sinking of the Eastland” and “Shattered.” “Self Storage” is published by Magnetik Ink, an entertainment-media venture the writer launched last year with business partner Jeff Siegel.

The tale is “a surreal nightmare that is part ‘The Shining,’ part ‘Naked Lunch,’ part ‘Lost Weekend,’ and part photo album of my own life,” according to Bonansinga. “The fact that this book is the most personal book I’ve ever written is kind of scary—even to me—as well as the fact that the story takes you to places I thought I would never take a reader.”

Available in hardcover, “Self Storage” is 213 pages and priced at $24.95.

Conceived as a central hub that allows self-storage owners, operators, developers and investors to obtain cutting-edge information and resources, the ISS Store is owned and operated by ISS, a dynamic services provider that has served the self-storage industry for more than 25 years. The brand includes ISS magazine, the ISS Expo and Self-Storage Talk, the industry’s largest online community.
