Whirlwind Steel Buildings Inc. recently introduced Whirlwind Solar Energy Systems, a renewable energy alternative for metal rool and building applications. The new product is an amorphous photovoltaic peel-and-stick system that is factory or field applied to standing seam roof panels.

Whirlwind Solar is available in seven pre-designed packages ranging from 3 to 120 kilowatts. It is engineered to be penetration free, lightweight (less than 1 pound per square foot), low cost and grid tied. The manufacturer provides necessary electrical drawings, wire sizing, equipment sizing and specifications for the system.

The company also offers a free return on investment analysis availble on its website, providing incentives, break-even year, square footage of roof area required, budgetary costs and kilowatt hours generated per year. Info: www.whirlwindsteel.com
