U-Stor-It Self Storage, which operates facilities in California and Illinois, has opened a new location in Westmont, Ill. The property at 701 N. Blackhawk Drive is near Ty Warner Park, a 36-acre, outdoor recreation area. The property includes climate-controlled and drive-up units, gated access, video cameras, and a retail store that sells moving and packing supplies.

“U-Stor-It is excited to join the Westmont community as we open our 10th location,” said Peter Nora, director of operations. “We would like to thank the Village of Westmont, the Westmont chamber, and many residents who have welcomed us into the community, and we are looking forward to serving the village and its residents.”

U-Stor-It recently hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening. Attendees included Westmont Mayor Ron Gunter and Kevin Carey, president of the Westmont Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Bureau. “On behalf of the entire community, we’re glad that you chose Westmont for your business and we wish you much success,” Gunter said.

Founded more than 25 years ago, U-Store-It has one facility in San Diego and nine in the Chicago area and surrounding communities. The company also operates two Storage Solutions facilities in Kankakee, Ill., and one each in Bourbonnais and Manteno, Ill.
