Police have arrested the man they believe killed a 23-year-old woman then wrapped and stored her body in a self-storage unit in Charlotte, N.C.

Michael Neal Harvey, 34, was arrested in Niagara Falls, N.Y. Charlotte-Mecklenburg, N.C., police issued an arrest warrant for Harvey after Valerie Hamilton's body was discovered Saturday in a self-storage unit at Mini-Storage Center Saturday. Hamilton is the daughter of Concord Police Chief Merl Hamilton.

Harvey is originally from Niagara Falls but has been living in Charlotte. He was arrested at a home Monday just after 10 a.m.

Although the case is an open murder investigation, Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Chief Rodney Monroe told reporters witnesses helped lead police to the storage facility on Monroe Road. Police are not yet releasing a cause of death.

Hamilton was last seen leaving a tavern around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday. Her car was found in a nearby parking lot the next day. Police believe she was taken to the storage unit soon after leaving the tavern.
