Mans Ear Bitten, Face Slashed During Property Dispute at S.C. Self-Storage Facility

A mans face was slashed with a knife and his ear partially bitten off during a fight Saturday afternoon over property stored in a unit at a self-storage facility in Richland, S.C.

Michael L. Pylman, 49, came to blows with his former roommates brother, Tosh Evans, around 3:30 p.m. at Queensgate Mini Storage, 2373 Jericho Road. Police said when they arrived they found Evans on top of Pylman, punching him in the head. Pylman also had a bite on his arm. Police said when Pylman tried to run away, Evans put him in a choke hold and bit his ear.

Evans sister, Rochelle, had reportedly been living with Pylman. She and her brother visited the storage unit to retrieve property. The fight ensued after Rochelle and Pylman began to argue over some of the property she was taking, police said. Police said Evans got out of the car, confronted Pylman then attacked him.

Pylman was treated at Kadlec Regional Medical Center. Evans was arrested on charges of first-degree assault. He's scheduled to appear in court on June 25.
