Man Ruled Competent to Stand Trial for Father's Murder at CA Self-Storage Facility

A man in Glendora, Calif., has been ruled competent to stand trial for the murder of his father at a self-storage facility.

A judge ruled Thursday that Jonathan Pedraza, 25, is mentally competent to stand trial for the Sept. 10 murder of Miguel Pedraza, 62.

Pedraza is accused of killing his father with a dumbbell at A-1 Mini Storage, 4391 Irwindale Ave. Pedraza then crashed a car through the facilitys security gate, and was involved in a hit-and-run accident in Baldwin Park, police said.

Police have not released a motive for the murder. Pedrazas next court hearing is Oct. 25.
