Former Self-Storage Employee Arrested and Charged With Stealing Items From Units

A former employee of a self-storage facility in Sierra Vista, Ariz., has been arrested and charged with burglary following an investigation into several unit break-ins.

Mark T. Jenks, 46, has been charged with seven counts of third-degree burglary, six counts of theft and six counts of criminal damage.

Police began investigating the thefts at Sierra Vista Self Storage, 900 E. Wilcox Drive, in late October after a woman reported her unit had been broken into. The investigation revealed six other units had similar thefts in which padlocks were cut and replaced with new locks. Items reported stolen include a TV, generator, computer and printer, fishing poles, and more.
