Brothers Arrested in Connecticut Self-Storage Theft

Police arrested two brothers in Manchester, Conn., for theft at a self-storage facility and for damaging a motorcycle and car. The facility is on Sullivan Avenue in the town of South Windsor, which is 9 miles north of Hartford.

The brothers, ages 20 and 21, were arrested around 1:30 a.m. May 11 by South Windsor police. Police told the source the facility manager reported more than 50 locks were cut from the units.

Police also told the source tenants of the units were notified and confirmed items were stolen. A motorcycle and a car stored in one of the units was damaged. The damage to the vehicles is estimated at $2,600. Another $6,000 in damage was done to the security locks on the storage units, as well as the fence around the facility.

The brothers were charged with conspiracy to commit burglary, larceny, criminal mischief and criminal trespassing. They were both released on $0,000 bond and are scheduled to appear in court on May 26.
