Wentworth Property Co. Opens New Self-Storage Facility in Tempe, AZ

Commercial real estate firm Wentworth Property Co. LLC has opened a new self-storage facility in Tempe, Ariz. The property at 7310 S. Priest Drive will be managed by Westport Properties Inc. (WPI) and branded under WPI’s US Storage Centers operating name. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held on March 28 to celebrate the opening, according to press release.

Converted from a former furniture store, the property comprises 65,312 rentable square feet of storage space in 606 units. Facility offerings include climate control, keypad access, moving carts and video cameras. The property is on an arterial road near homes, retailers and restaurants, the release stated.

"We are very excited to be in Tempe. Currently, we have over 12 storage locations in the greater Phoenix market, so we are fortunate to be able to now serve Tempe as well," said Jason Lopez, chief marketing officer for WPI.

Founded in 1985 and based in Irvine, Calif., WPI is a real estate investment company that acquires, develops and operates self-storage facilities as well as provides third-party management services. Its portfolio includes 110 facilities comprising more than 7.5 million rentable square feet in 14 states. It's affiliated with Westport Memphis Self Storage LLC.

Based in Phoenix, Wentworth Property has developed more than 7 million square feet of commercial office and industrial space. Its portfolio includes build-to-suit, conversions and ground-up developments.
