Storage Marketing Solutions President Skydives for Charity

The president of Storage Marketing Solutions (SMS) is embarking on a unique fundraising campaign to assist families of fallen soldiers: He’s going to skydive one foot for every dollar in donations he collects for the The Fallen Patriot Fund. An initiative of The Mark Cuban Foundation, the fund was established to help families of U.S. military personnel who were killed or seriously injured during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Derek Naylor’s goal is to raise $30k.

Self-storage professionals and other interested parties are encouraged to contribute to Naylor’s campaign. If he reaches his financial objective, he’ll jump from a plane at 30,000 feet in a HALO (high altitude, low opening) skydive. In addition, he’ll send all contributors a copy of a report titled, “14 Stealth Strategies for Self Storage Operators,” which provides inside tips for industry marketing.

“I’m doing this to make things fun, but I also know a good chunk of people in this industry would love to see me jump from a plane!” writes Naylor on his dedicated fundraising Web page at www.storagemarketingsolutions.com/fallensoldier. Visitors to the page can sign up to receive updates about the campaign and later view a video of the jump.

Donations should be made payable to “The Fallen Patriot Fund” and mailed to:

Storage Marketing Solutions
PO Box 13569
Ogden, UT 84412-3569

Bequests will be made on behalf of each individual/company, and contributors will receive the appropriate tax-deduction paperwork.
