Kennards to Open New Self-Storage Facility in St. Marys, Australia

Kennards Self Storage, which operates more than 80 self-storage facilities in Australia and New Zealand, is set to open a new facility in St. Marys, Australia, on Nov. 25. The property was originally supposed to open in October. It will offer units ranging from 1 to 100 square meters as well as warehouse spaces with drive-up access to be targeted at business customers, according to the company website.

Customer amenities include free use of a conference room and a “Hot Desk” area offering WiFi and docking stations to charge cellphones and laptops. Tenants may also use a kitchen area outfitted with a microwave and refrigerator as well as complimentary coffee and tea. Customers also have access to flatbed trolleys, pallet jacks and “walk-behind” forklifts.

Security features include closed-circuit television and customer access codes.

“The site at 69 Christie Street has transformed from a dusty construction site to the most recognizable Kennards Self Storage Center, adorning the corporate colors of orange and blue,” according to a company blog post.

Kennards is a family-owned business based in Sydney. It opened its first self-storage facility in 1973 in Moorebank.
