Jim’s Self Storage will soon open the first phase of its most recent expansion in Williamstown, Victoria, Australia. As many as 150 of the additional 300 units planned for the site will be available on July 1, according to a press release.
The property at 217 Kororoit Creek Road features 24-hour customer access, individual unit alarms and video cameras. In addition to self-storage, the property offers document, vehicle and wine storage as well as a retail store that sells moving and packing supplies.
The facility has received numerous awards, including “Best Facility Upgrade/Expansion” from the Self Storage Association of Australasia in 2011. It also won the 2015 Hobsons Bay Business Excellence Award in the transport and warehousing category. Held every second year, the award from the Hobsons Bay City Council honors local businesses that demonstrate “innovation, excellence and leading work practices,” according to the council’s website.
“Our solid commitment is not only providing the very latest in security technology and equipment, but also close engagement with Williamstown and the western suburbs at large,” the release stated. “We are proud of our local sponsorships and involvement with community activities, and are confident this latest expansion further demonstrates our eagerness to grow along with the people we serve."
Jim’s Self Storage was founded in 1996 by Jim Morgan and his son, Ivor Morgan. The company regularly contributes to the community through sponsorships, participation and fundraising to support local sports and life-saving clubs, schools and community groups, the release stated.
