BETCO Makes Sales Team Changes

Terry Campbell, a 12-year employee of BETCO Inc., was named vice-president of sales and marketing for all self-storage products, general purpose buildings and components worldwide. He is restructuring the Texas sales staff to better serve the Western markets and streamlining the sales efforts of the Bryan, Texas, office and plant.

Campbell, who joined the company as an estimator, has experience in several company areas including Eastern region sales manager and national marketing director. He is also responsible for the team that includes sales consultants Matt Doyle, Ron Brush, Danny Schultea and Roy Evans.

Robin Faucett, who came to BETCO as an administrative assistant in 2004 after two decades in production and shipping, is now sales coordinator. Her responsibilities include preparing and reviewing sales proposals and assisting the sales staff.

New Hires at AAAA Self Storage

AAAA Self Storage Management Group, based in Norfolk, Va., appointed Donna Wagner as district manager. Wagner has 20 years management experience from a variety of industries. Heidi Taylor is the new manager for AAAA Self Storage Marianna, Fla., which provides climate control and RV storage.

U-Store-It Hires VPs of Operation

U-Store-It Trust, a self-administered and self-managed real estate investment trust, hired John George, Carey Parsons and Chris Potash as vice presidents of operations. George is responsible for the Western division. He has 12 years experience in the self-storage industry. He was previously a senior operating executive with Extra Space Storage, and a district manager for Storage USA.

Parsons focus is the South/Central division. He joined the company from a private real estate firm, where he was vice president of property management. He has been a regional manager for Storage USA, and has 29 years experience in managing retail, multifamily and self-storage assets.

Potash is in charge of the Southeast division consisting of the East Coast states. He previously worked for United Stor All as vice president of operations. He has also worked as vice president at East Coast Storage and a regional manager for Storage USA.

Janus Announces Staff Changes

Janus International announced Sandy Chambers was promoted to director of inside sales and customer service responsible for implementing customer service programs. Dianne Hammond was promoted to inside sales manager, where she implements the daily operations of the department. Alan Campbell, a 15-year veteran of the door-manufacturing industry, has joined the Janus technical sales team.

PhoneSmart Recognizes Achievements

The PhoneSmart Off-Site Sales Force recognized the achievements of several sales representatives for September. Lucia Darnell and Laura Ryan answered more than 1,500 self-storage phone calls. Dana Shields, Angela Perry, Wendy Lane, Kurt Saxton, Nuria Logan, Jeanette Puccetti and Ronald Smith answered between 1,000 and 1,500 self-storage calls. Darnell, Carmen Huff, Liz Langsteiner, Robin Turner and Sara Huaco were recognized as the top five in the company for total conversion ratios turning the highest percentage of their calls into leads and reservations.

Rapid Rack Industries Names Managers

City of Industry, Calif.-based Rapid Rack Industries Inc. appointed Patrick McCarthy as national accounts manager. He reports directly to Executive Vice President Claude Hayes. McCarthy, a 20-year industry veteran, is responsible for developing and supervising all national accounts for the companys industrial business. He will be based in New Jersey.

The company also hired Jon Nichols as its new national sales manager for Gorilla Rack products. Based in Texas, Nichols oversees consumer sales and marketing of the Gorilla Rack product line focusing on new customers and new product development. He has 25 years extensive sales and marketing experience.

Sal Bocanegra was promoted to industrial design manager for the company, serving as a project manager for Rapid Racks industrial business. His duties include working with dealers and distributors on projects from beginning to completion and designing various shelving products.

Kippes Joins OB Companies

Anthony J. Kippes is the new vice president of construction for OB Companies/ Simply Self Storage, a diversified real estate developer of self-storage businesses. Kippes has 25 years of experience in commercial and residential construction and development. He previously served as vice president of construction for Public Storage, and director of construction for Shurgard Storage-Western region.

Jared Farmer moved from Kippes position to vice president of development for OB Companies. The Florida-based company has more than 4.9 million square feet of storage space at 82 facilities.

Buchanan Announces New VP

Buchanan Storage Capital promoted Josh Greer from assistant vice president to vice president, after six years with the firm. As a capital markets specialist, Greer advised Buchanans clients in the structuring of more than $1 billion of self-storage debt and equity. The California-based company is a provider of capital to self-storage owners nationwide.
