Extra Space Renews With Learn.com for Employee Training

Salt Lake City-based Extra Space Storage Inc., a real estate investment trust and national owner, developer, acquirer and operator of self-storage properties, has signed a new three-year contract with Learn.com, which provides the company's e-learning module for employee training. LearnCenter creates, delivers, manages and tracks an educational environment designed to meet each user's specific training needs, whether in a classroom or online.

"LearnCenter has revolutionized the way we communicate with and train employees, said Karen Langham, Extra Space's vice president of learning and development. "After our recent merger, LearnCenter efficiently and effectively helped our organization communicate and track new policies, procedures and certifications for our large group of new and existing team members, who are geographically dispersed.

"A recent internal survey found that almost 90 percent of our employees have used the LearnCenter, and 75 percent of those surveyed found the system very easy to use. Over the past year, with only one LearnCenter administrator and no prior LMS experience, LearnCenter has enabled us to centralize communication, launch new manager training and rollout a new re-certification program in compliance with new legislation for field employees, said Langham.

Extra Space owns or operates 638 self-storage properties in 32 states and Washington, D.C. It is the second largest self-storage in the United States, holding more more than 47 million square feet of space. For details, visit www.extraspace.com.
