(Sept. 6, 1938 - Aug. 22, 2005)

Daniel T. Webster III, 66, an entrepreneur and international businessman, died suddenly on Aug. 22 when the plane he was piloting crashed near Brandywine Airport in West Chester, Pa.

Dan was born in New York City and raised in Wilton, Conn. He attended the University of Virginia and graduated from Cornell University. An engineer and inventor at heart, he founded WHAM Security Systems in 1980. With a product entirely conceived and developed by him and his long-time business associate, David Rothschild, he became an innovator in the field of self-storage security and continued to produce state-of-the-art systems for facilities worldwide.

Services were held on Aug. 26 at the St. David’s Church in Dan’s home town of St. Davids, Pa. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, relatives and friends make donations to their favorite charities in Dan’s honor. Correspondence can be sent to 242 Ravenscliff, St. Davids, PA 19087; e-mail dan3@baysidemaine.com.
