Personal Mini Storage Management Aims to Donate More Than 2K Pounds of Food

Self-storage management company Personal Mini Storage Management Co. has launched its annual food drive with a goal of collecting and donating more than 2,000 pounds of food to two Florida food banks: the Pearlman Pantry of Central Florida and Gainesville Harvest. The Feinstein Foundation, an organization dedicated to the alleviation of hunger nationwide, will provide a partial match for each dollar raised or pound of food donated to the Pearlman Pantry.

For the 16th consecutive year, Alan Shawn Feinstein, the founder of the Feinstein Foundation, will divide $1 million among non-profit hunger-fighting agencies nationwide, using it as a spur to help raise funds this March and April, according to Personal Mini Storage President Marc Smith. "Personal Mini Storage is proud to help our neighbors in need and the communities that we live in and service. We appreciate the contributions made by our customers and team members."

Donations can be made at any of 31 Personal Mini Storage locations through April 15. Contact information and directions for each storage facility can be found at personalministorage.com.

Personal Mini Storage Management donated more than 1,600 pounds of food in 2012. Headquartered in Orlando, Fla., the company operates 35 self-storage facilities in Florida. It is owned and operated by Laurie and Marc Smith, who have a combined 50 years of experience in the industry.

Founded in 1991 by Alan Shawn Feinstein, the Feinstein Foundation is dedicated to the alleviation of hunger, the importance of community service in education, and the values of caring, compassion and brotherhood. Feinstein's past spring $1 million challenges to fight hunger have raised more than $1.50 billion for over 1,800 agencies and houses of worship nationwide.
