Ideal Shield, a provider of column wraps, bollard covers and other facility-maintenance and protection products for self-storage and other businesses, if now offering a thick plastic column wrap as part of its product line. Available in round and square options of various sizes and made of quarter-inch plastic, the column-wrap protection can be purchased in custom lengths and multiple colors.

The round wraps can fit around 6- and 8-inch columns and pipes and are available in yellow, red and gray. The square wraps fit around any square column and come in yellow, red, gray and black.

Self-storage operators can install the wraps themselves using the interlocking panels. No painting or special adhesives are required.

Ideal Shied column wraps can be used in any building, standing up to everyday wear and tear inside any facility, according to a company press release. They are currently being used by companies including Costco, Kmart and Target.

Since 1996, Ideal Shield has manufactured handrails, barrier guardrails and bollard covers as well as a patented line of facility-maintenance and -protection products. Company officials said the products save time money and maintenance by eliminating the need to paint.
