Houston Self-Storage Operator Wins Better Business Bureau Award

Proguard Self Storage, a Houston-area self-storage operator, recently won an award from the Better Business Bureau (BBB) Education Foundation. The business was named a Winner of Distinction and a finalist for the 2011 BBB Awards for Excellence at a May 4 ceremony at the Houston InterContinental Hotel.

Proguard offers moving and packing supplies at every location and accepts freight deliveries. The company website features a space calculator as well as online account management, through which clients can view their balances, pay their bills and update their accounts. People can also make first-come, first-serve reservations for units. The site also has a section devoted to storage and moving tips, such as removing furniture legs and wrapping them with furniture pads or keeping refrigerator doors slightly open, for customers looking for extra help. Proguard also provides a number of climate-controlled storage units, available in a many sizes. The suburban Bear Creek location offers enclosed boat and RV storage.

Our goal is to be as client-friendly as possible, said Blenda Stapleton, facility manager. "We tried to think of every conceivable convenience we could offer, so when people think to themselves, I could really use this right now' or I wish that...,' we have a solution ready and waiting."

Proguard Self Storage is currently celebrating its 20th year in business and has five locations in the Houston metropolitan area.
