Handy Lock Self Storage of Daphne, AL Receives Beautification Award

Handy Lock Self Storage of Daphne, Ala., has received the first beautification award presented by the newly reorganized Daphne Beautification Committee. The award recognizes those businesses that contribute most to the adornment of the city through their landscaping and architecture.

In attendance for the award presentation were resident managers Sandra and Robert Summer, Mayor Fred Small and committee members Bea Wilson and Marshall Parsons. The site owners were presented with a framed certificate, and a sign indicating the honor will be posted on the propertys front lawn for three months.

The Daphne Beatification Award will be presented to a new business quarterly. Committee members said they hope other property owners will be encouraged to make efforts to qualify for this recognition and make Daphne even more beautiful. The group meets at 10 a.m. on the first Friday of the month at the Daphne Recreation Center.

Part of Handy Locks appeal lies in the giant oak on its front lawn. The facility owners are doing everything possible to preserve it, according to the committee.
